Summer 2009 IUSC Adult Soccer Leagues.
IUSC will be offering Coed, Open (most competative-primarily
a men's league), Women's and Over 30 League play. No games
will be scheduled the weekend of July 4th, or on Grassroots
Festival weekend*.
Season runs from May 30 - August 15th and
each team plays 9 games*.
* In the event of rainouts,
we will try to reschedule games. We will offer no refunds
to games missed due to weather. Rescheduled games may be scheduled
for grassroots weekend or any other available field time &
date. We offer one playoff match between the top 2 seeds in
each division whenever possible. In other words, we try to
schedule games that fit our communities' schedules and your
expectations... however, we get a lot of rain in this area
and we cannot make promises that all games can be played or
that they can be scheduled according to the planned league
format...
Coed League plays full field, 11 vs. 11 on Saturdays
(Exclusively Saturdays thru july 4th) and also on weeknights
(Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) after july 4th.
Teams play one or two games each week. Coed games limit 8
men on the field at one time (which implies 3 women at a time).
Cost is $800 per team.
. Coed league is divided into a "more competative"
first tier division and a "more recreational" second
tier division. IUSC recommends
a roster of 18-22 for coed and open leagues. Average player
fee is $35-45, depending upon team size. The Coed League usually
has about 6-8 teams in the upper division and 6-8 lower division
teams.
Open League plays full field, 11 vs. 11, exlusively
on Sundays. Open league tends to be primarily men
but is open to all. Cost is $800
per team. . IUSC recommends a roster
of 18-22 for coed and open leagues. Average player fee is
$35-40, depending upon team size. We usually have 6-12 open
league teams competing. The top teams in open league play
at a very advanced level.
Women's League plays 7 vs. 7 on a smaller field at
Cass Park, on Sunday morning and on Friday nights. Cost
is $360 per team. IUSC recommends
a roster of 10-14 for women's league. Average player fee is
$25-30, depending upon team size. Women's League usually has
about 6-8 teams.
Over 30 - Over 30 League is COED. Teams play 7 vs.
7 on a small field at Cass Park, mostly on Monday and Wednesday
nights (although some other weeknights are possible). Maximum
5 men on the field (which implies 2 women).. Cost
is $360 per team. IUSC recommends
a roster of 10-14 for over 30 league. Average player fee is
$25-30, depending upon team size. Women's League usually has
about 6-8 teams. NOTE: There are no exceptions to the over
30 rule. No one under 30 can participate...
HOW TO REGISTER:
Email all of the following information
to IUSC Commissioner
(rich@ithacasoccer.com):
(1) Team Name, (2) League entering (for coed, please indicate
the division you wish to enter, tier 1 or tier 2), (3) Captain
Name(s), (4) Captains Email address, (5) Captains Phone Number.
These are all required even for returning
teams. We
will confirm your reservation via email and will be in direct
contact with you for follow-up information and questions.
Additionally, teams
must submit all special scheduling requests and restrictions
by the end of registration, May 25th. IUSC
cannot accomodate all requests but will do everything possible
to meet your needs. In general, IUSC is able to meet all requests
if they are made before the season is scheduled. IUSC does
not offer rescheduling except to the extent it benefits the
league and IUSC retains the right to reschedule games as it
deems necessary.
IUSC DOES NOT OFFER INDIVIDUAL PLAYER REGISTRATION. TO

Keep the following dates in mind...
May 7, 2009 - IUSC begins acceptance of team reservations
May 25, 2008 - Registration
closes for all leagues. New team reservations after
this date will be accepted at the league's discretion. (Team
forms and fees should be submitted at your team's first game,
prior to kick-off). All teams must submit special scheduling
requests and restrictions by this date.
May 28, 2008 - Summer schedules are posted.
May 30, 2008 (Saturday) - Coed League play begins.
ALL COED TEAMS PLAY.
June 1, 2008 (Sunday) - Open League play begins. ALL
TEAMS PLAY.
August 15, 2008 (Approx) - Regular season and playoffs
come to conclusion
